Sensei Best is a native of Duplin County, North Carolina and resides in Rose Hill. While training as a under-belt Sensei Best would ride his bike from Rose Hill to Wallace to attend class. Sensei Best is a fifth degree black belt and has trained in many styles. It was a little over two years ago when I first recall hearing about Sensei Best. For the sake of boring you with formal names I will refer to Sensei Best as "Sensei". My son's T-ball coach and I found ourselves talking about his daughter taking Tae Kwon Do and how she was doing. I was so impressed that, first this young girls dad was spending so much time with his daughter playing t-ball and taking martial arts how did he work it all in and coach to. A few days later I found out that he also took Tae Kwon Do.

As time went by I explained that I would love to do something like that, but with my disability I did not think it was possible. After getting up the courage I joined Sensei martial arts school. For the past two years I have trained with Sensei in Tae Kwon Do, weight lifting and fitness. I cannot begin to tell you how much my life has changed, however I feel compelled to try. After being on crutches for the best part of three and one half years, due to a accident my left heal had been shattered. My doctors said go home and forget about working, with 35% disability in my lower extremity, working in a industrial environment would be impossible. Today I hold the same position with the same company as before my accident. I feel the best that I have in years and most weeks I work out five or six days. But that is far to much about me, this site is about Sensei Best and his Tae Kwon Do School.

Stop by and visit our school and see what Sensei can do with a group of children. Sensei is beyond belief when he is handling 25 to 30 children ranging from 3 years to 14 years. I know for a fact the things Sensei has done for his kids. Children have improved in school, Sensei rewards his students that do well in school, with certificates and other forms of recognition. When a shy withdrawn child starts coming out of their shell and showing self control, power and becoming part of a team, it is a heart touching experience. Most people would have given up and quit by now without going through half the headaches sensei has. Not owning his own building sensei has rented buildings and been forced to move several times. Sensei is not in this for the money and many times has carried many students for months because of the man he is. We are looking for investors and sponsors to build a martial arts school. Hollywood you are missing out, you have only touched the surface of what this industry has to offer.

Many people have asked how Sensei got the name Dragonfoot. The name was picked up when Sensei was sparring and his opponent after the sparing match, came up to Sensei and stated I really like the way you drag your foot. This technique would become a trade mark of Sensei Best. Sliding and dragging his feet won Sensei over four hundred trophy's and medals. When you see Sensei in action it is easy to see why the name stuck and became Dragonfoot, thus Dragonfoot Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts School. Sensei thank you for giving me back my confidence and never complaining. You have given me more than money could ever buy, more that the doctors
thought possible and helping me to find myself. Your students wanted you to
